Hello Palmetto Chapter!

The Florida Palmetto Chapter is hosting its two biggest spring events. The spring Test is scheduled for March 29/30, and the Snake Avoidance Clinic will take place on April 12. Saturday’s agenda includes UT and GDT, while Sunday features the NA test. New puppy owners are invited to attend and observe the test, along with any others that are interested! It is an opportunity to ask questions and lend assistance if you wish.

Join us in making a difference! We’re selling tickets for a Dogtra Launcher, with proceeds supporting purchasing training equipment. Be part of this exciting opportunity and purchase your ticket today! We’ll announce the lucky winner at our upcoming snake avoidance clinic.

We’re having a Saturday evening potluck dinner at QHF on the 29th, and you’re invited! It’s a great chance to meet the judges, and we promise not to judge your cooking. Please come and bring a dish to share, we’ll gather at 5:30 pm. Let’s socialize, have some fun, and make our judges feel welcome!

The Florida Palmetto chapter of NAVHDA currently offers two sanctioned tests annually. We host spring and fall tests to evaluate natural ability and utility dogs. To participate, individuals must be NAVHDA members, and their dogs must be registered with NAVHDA. These tests involve multiple stakeholders, from dog owners to chapter event planners. To ensure the success of our fall 2025 and spring 2026 tests, the Florida Palmetto chapter is seeking committee members. Please contact Melody to express interest. We aim to establish a six-person committee, accompanied by our test secretary. Currently, two members are committed to the fall test committee. An online meeting will be scheduled soon to initiate planning for the fall test. If you wish to join the planning committee, please notify us.
