Sign up for GMHT, Lake Wales July 13 training is now available in our store.
We will be starting at 7 Saturday morning. GMHT has camp sites with those with RVs, nightly fee can be purchased via the store also. GMHT has both electric hook up and primitive camping spots. Remember we are required to wear orange in the fields this is both due to state law and insurances.
It is hot and rainy season so bring plenty of water for your pup and rain gear. Although we all love to hunt dry it is better to condition your dog to hunt raining too as if you are testing the rain does not stop it, if you traveled for a hunt more then likely you’ll go out too.
We are now accepting test entries for our fall test. We currently have 3 NA openings left. Also let us know soon if you can volunteer so we can assign tasks.Florida Palmetto chapter currently offers 2 sanctioned tests per year. We host a spring and fall test for natural ability and utility dogs. Participants have to be NAVHDA members and their dogs registered with NAVHDA.
These tests have a lot of working parts from the dog owner to the chapter planning the event. Every chapter has a lead that organizes the test for their chapter. The Palmetto chapter is looking for that lead for 2025. That lead; The Director of Testing, would assist with the fall 2024 test which is November 9/10 weekend and assume the 2025 Spring and fall test. The Director works with the BOD, test secretary, hosting facility and members to organize this event. Interested leaders would need to be NAVHDA and Palmetto chapter member, knowledge of the testing requirements and preferably have participated in a recent Test and aims clinic.
