Hello Florida Palmetto Chapter!

We look forward to a fun filled weekend June 26/26 @ Blackwater Creek Ranch!

Here is an update on what is going on:

Training: Begins Saturday 7am

  • Table/yardwork/obedience: Instruction and practice time utilizing the training table establishing the building blocks of your hunting partner’s training. Participants will go home with homework to work one to prepare their dog for NAVHDA’s testing system and hunting!
  • Fetching: Start to finish your dog on the important framework to be successful in your dog bringing your game fully successful to hand.
  • Steadiness by the blind: Instruction and practice on preparing your dog for both the NAVHDA UT test and getting ready for duck hunting!
  • Tracking: Instruction and practicing tracking for your pup. Will review the principles of tracking scent, how to read your dog while tracking, and will initially practice on dead dragged game and advance to a live track.

Gunning: Begins Saturday 10am

  • 5 Stand
  • Target shooting
  • Learn to shoot: Sunday Morning gunning for the less experienced with Chris White.

Kids: We invite all kids to join Saturday for loads of fun!

  • Duck Calling: DT calls donated duck calls so each participant gets to go home with their own call!
  • Zip line
  • Swimming
  • Snow Cones
  • Map and compass adventure learn map and compass! We have compasses from ROC Gear, Inc. Go home with your own compass!
  • Buggy Rides for all! Tour the beautiful ranch! Bring your camera! Never know what you will see!
